Time lost

Peanut is 23 months old today. Twenty.three.months! She came to us in January of 2009 as a swaddled 4 month old when Army Wife moved home while Army Guy was deployed to Afghanistan. And I can barely remember when she wasn’t part of our lives. Army Guy returned a year later to a hostile economy, and they stayed…with us…waiting. Waiting for the National Guard to release him. Waiting for the Army to review his flight packet. Waiting to decide what path would be best.

Waiting.

Waiting.

Waiting.

During the waiting, this is what happened.

Our Peanut turned into a little girl.

  1. They do that, ever so quickly. Then, suddenly, they’re in school. And then they’re teenagers. How does this happen, when we don’t get any older?

    She is a doll!
