F is for Family Fun

Welcome to Round 8 of ABC Wednesday. The meme was started by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt, and people from all over the world come together to play and share their entries. Each week word(s) beginning with the designated letter are selected and woven into a post.

For this round, I’ll be taking each letter and pairing it with a personal experience or life lesson. This week it’s all about family. Well…actually, last week was all about family as most of our clan gathered for a vacay in sunny Cancun, Mexico to escape the winter. Even The Floridian was looking forward to it as north FL has been *cold*…in her opinion. Her definition and mine are poles apart.

I believe as one gets older, family becomes more important. I remember being young and not so much interested in the family get togethers. I had much better things to do with my time…like hanging out with friends, working and other more important stuff. But, as with all wisdom gained, friends come and go; jobs end; the more important things seem to pale in comparison as you grow up…and older.

I’m fortunate to have family that is supportive and fun to be around (for the most part!). So now I cherish time spent with parents, children, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and grandkids. For better or worse, we are a clan.

Life is short.

Too short to not enjoy time with those you love.

So that is what do.

  2. Every family has at least one comedian…looks like you have several. What could be better than family fun. We have 4 adult children, and two of them keep us in stitches.
