Creative Exchange: Battery Recharge

Where do you go to get away from the stress of life?
Where do you go to recharge your batteries?

When financially possible, we escape from our daily grind to places where the warmth soaks into your bones and causes your mind to shut down. Relax. Regroup. Recharge.

The tropics is that place for us. There is something therapeutic about looking out over the ocean. Listening to the gulls. Watching the rhythm of the waves as they come in and go out is almost hypnotic. The lushness of the vegetation, the coolness of the sand, the azure water…something about it clears my mind of all the accumulated head trash. And I look out over the vastness of the sea and realize how, despite all the modern marvels of mankind, we are but ants in the grand scheme of things. That the vastness of the universe, above and below the ocean’s surface has only been scratched by our discoveries. And we’ll probably never know all its secrets.

For those that live around this full-time, I imagine it’s not so special. But for those landlocked for the majority of our lives, this is paradise found.

  1. Lisa – With almost 2 feet of snow on the ground right now, you have no idea how wonderful this was to see and read! You have described it so perfectly!

Thank you so much for sharing this today at The Creative Exchange.

    Have a wonderful day!

    • Thankfully, our snow is gone now. But the Farmer’s Almanac says we have one more bad one coming this spring. I hope they are wrong!

  2. I absolutely agree with Lisa – you described it so well that I can almost hear the waves, a slight breeze… sigh… I imagine I sit in that chair – wonderful!
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such nice words!

  3. Ahhh, you’re not lying… how I’d love love love to go tropical… I just can’t afford to do it, tho… too bad!
You’re photo is so beautiful! =)

    Thanks for stopping by & commenting… =)

  4. Being near the ocean – which ocean or which beach does not matter. The ocean sounds and smells sooth my psyche. When the ocean is not an option, I pull into myself, into my safe harbor, to recharge.

  5. Surprisingly, to tropical residents like us, we go to cooler climes, to recharge.

I am lucky since I only long for home and rest my weary self among the warm furs of my hounds in my house called Heaven and I’m good to go! 😉

Thank you for taking time to comment. I appreciate each and every one.
