A tricky color this Cerulean. Definitely didn’t look like the crayon wrapper or the crayon at first glance. When colored on paper, it was dangerously close to Pacific Blue. Why Crayola puts colors so similar in the same box, I’ll never know. But I digress.
The swing is Peanut’s. Vacant since December 2010, I simply cannot take it down. It reminds me of summers past when they lived with us. Her first swing ride at our house was the summer of 2009 when she was 6 months old. We blew bubbles at her and she giggled endlessly. Last summer, she was big enough to grab the tree trunk on the way by, and still full of giggles.
So here is hangs. Empty. Waiting for the grandgirl. If afraid if it has to wait much longer, she’ll be too big. Sigh.

I doubt I’d take that swing down either. There is still a small patio bench in the yard from when my boys were really little. And there it will stay. It always brings a smile, if a wistful one.

But then there might be another little peanut to fill the swing in the future.

We have a red one…and my boys are both too big for it now, but they sure did enjoy every second in it when they fit!
