The Christmas decorations are all sort of neatly tucked back into their storage boxes, and we’re looking ahead to the new year. I must say, I’m looking forward to saying good-bye to 2011 in many, many ways.
Green is a perfect color selection for Project 64 and preparing for 2012.
Green is renewal and new growth: May we grow spiritually, emotionally and intellectually this coming year. But I, personally, would prefer not to grow physically. 🙂 May we look at this new year as a new beginning; a fresh start; a year where we can accomplish great things and be happy to say, “Look what I did!”
Green is health: May we enjoy a year of good health, physically, emotionally and mentally. May we take out the smelly, stinky trash in our lives and start the year clean and “germ-free.”
Green is vitality: May we never forget how precious life is. May we give 110% in everything we do, living each day like it’s our last and cherishing the time we have with those who matter most in our lives. After all, we can’t take anything with us when we leave this world, so we should make sure we don’t miss any opportunities while we’re here.
Green is good fortune and abundance: May we enjoy the best life has to offer in both our personal and professional lives. May we reach for the stars but remember our priorities. May we set realistic goals that push us to be the best we can be in all areas of our lives.
Green is imagination: May we never lose our sense of playfulness, creativity and whimsy as we masquerade as responsible adults. After all, green is the color of Kermit the Frog, leprechauns, dragons, the Emerald City, Shrek and Tinkerbell. And we can’t forget the silliness of Green Eggs and Ham!
And finally…
Green means Go! May we go boldly into 2012 with positive attitudes, renewed faith and a desire to make it our best year yet.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD.
“They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
~Jeremiah 29:11
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
