Friday already? Where did the week go?

I can’t believe it’s Friday and I haven’t posted since Tuesday. That gives you some idea of how my week went. Work is crazy-stupid-busy and I’m mentally exhausted when I get home. It’s no wonder I can’t really string sentences together very well.

Last Saturday, we returned from a Florida vacay to see the kids and grand loves (pictures soon), and all of a sudden I discovered it’s Autumn! October totally sneaked up on me when I wasn’t watching. But Tanner and I are loving the crisp evening walks. He seems to have a renewed sense of energy…if that’s even possible.

Come along with us and see what we found this week.

The trees are beginning to turn colors and I hope we have a pretty Autumn. But I’m a bit wary since the summer was so darn dry. Every yard has some kind of casualty, despite the best watering efforts.

The dainty, white, Fleabane wildflowers are still hanging on. Not the most attractive photo, but I had an impatient dog at the end of his leash (literally) so I’m darn lucky to have gotten this shot.

Don’t know what these yellow flowers are, but they’re ev.er.y.where in the unkempt areas. I’m waiting for the poison ivy to turn scarlet so it can announce its presence before I accidentally wander into it.

And then we have this confused Bradford pear tree. Is it Spring or Fall? I dunno.

I hope your week was a good one. I’m heading out for comfort food…..pasta with roasted red peppers and pine nuts in a garlic cream sauce and, of course, red wine. Good-bye diet and Hello Macaroni Grill!

  1. Goldenrod, perhaps? We’re enjoying fall weather now too, and I love it. By the way, diets have their place, and their place should never get in the way of Macaroni Grill (which I remember from life in California days – no such thing here) and pasta!

  2. Things are definitely changing quickly here also, and the time is flying by. I cannot believe I will be at mid-term in just a couple of weeks.

I think the yellow flowers are Goldenrod. All over the place here too, but so pretty, unless of course one is allergic to them.

I am sure you had a wonderful vacation, and I look forward to seeing your photos.

Have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

  3. Ragweed. GAH! It’s pretty to look at but my eyes and ticklish nose don’t love it at all. That last shot is terrific. Seasonal confusion among earth’s plants is a little disturbing, isn’t it?

Hope you have a restful weekend.
