Putting the finishing touches on Autumn

I loved Autumn, the one season of the year that
God seemed to have put there just for the beauty of it.

Friday FindsToday’s Friday Find over at Kim Klasson’s Cafe is a leaf I captured on the outing to the park with my muse.

After linking up with Kim’s Texture Tuesday, I watched her tutorial using textures and the Screen mode. I tried it with this shot and topped it off with Nancy’s new October texture. I like the finished result.

November rain and wind is beginning to take its toll on the Autumn color here in middle Missouri. The leaves are beginning to prefer being a colorful carpet instead of a canopy. My guess is in about a week or so, they’ll be all but gone and we’ll be ushering in another season.

Nuture-Autumn 2013Nurture Photography’s theme for this week is Brown. Along with Autumn’s spectacular color, there’s a lot of brown from which to choose. But, today, I’m sharing my favorite color of brown for this week’s prompt…Golden Retriever Brown!

Again, I used Kim’s tutorial on textures in the Screen mode and added two layers of Nancy’s October texture rotated in different directions. Then I converted it to a duotone.

As we race towards the holidays, there’s a little speed bump along the way called Thanksgiving. A time when we’re suppose to slow down and take stock of the blessings in our lives, recognizing all the things for which we’re thankful. My life has been blessed in so many ways. And this cold, wet nose is definitely one of them!

  1. What a glorious leaf image!! You did it justice with the adjustments. Your description of autumn leaving is so lovely! Yes, nothing better than a beautiful Golden dog. 🙂
