It’s not how you start that matters

In the end, it really won’t matter how we started life’s journey. In the end, we’ll all be remembered best for how we finished.

For some, the journey begins with life challenges that seem insurmountable; until they are overcome by strength and determination.

For others, the journey may take unexpected detours; until they find a way to fight their way out of the darkness.

And still others may experience epic fails along the way; but have within them the resolve to put the past behind them and decide to embrace a better future.

Metaphorically, the caterpillar can never fly free as a butterfly if it’s not willing to give up crawling on the ground. The desire to be transformed into something more beautiful must be greater than remaining still and fearing the worst.

Why are we so hesitant to give up being caterpillars? Why do we prefer to exist in a lower state when there is so much potential to be had outside of our narrow, myopic thinking? Why do we insist on letting our lives stand still instead of experiencing all that life has to offer?

Are we too lazy to put forth the effort to change?
Are we afraid of what lies beyond our comfort zone?
Are we so self-centered that we resist transforming into something better?

Because it’s not really about how you start….it’s how you finish that truly matters.

May we all find the courage to break out of our cocoons and enjoy the sweetness of life.
