(Almost) Wordless Wednesday

We might think we are nurturing our garden, but of course it’s our garden that is really nurturing us.
~Jenny Uglow

Thought is was about time I got re-aquainted with the manual settings on my digital camera. I used to have an all-manual SLR. College photography class taught me all the nuances of how film speed, shutter and aperture settings work together Digital cameras have really spoiled me nowadays.

While it’s easy to just put the camera on Auto and go, better shots are only a setting away. So, I’ve been trying to use Aperture-priority and (horrors) Manual whenever I have time to shoot and adjust the settings.

Blog hopping today with Sandee over at Comedy Plus for Wordless Wednesday.

  1. LOVE…LOVE…LOVE this quote, Lisa! You ALWAYS find the best ones!

And your beautiful photographs goes perfect with it!

And I hear you on getting in the habit of automatically putting the camera on AUTO mode instead of playing around with MANUAL. Like you, sometimes I’ll pick Aperture to play around with, other times it’s Shutter Speed or ISO. And I find that I’m starting to get a bit more comfortable with them. Also, think digital makes it easier because if you don’t like a picture you can simply delete it and try again. Whereas with film cameras, I feel as though I’m wasting the film.

Have a faaaaaabulous weekend, my friend!
