December Photo Challenge: Jingle All the Way

It’s the last day of December and the last day of 2019! PJ’s prompt for our photo challenge is, appropriately, Jingle All the Way.

December was a strange month weather-wise. Most of the month was mild with temps in the 50s and 60s. In fact, Christmas was almost 70F here in middle Missouri. However, a week before Christmas, six inches of the white stuff fell from the sky and canceled school for a couple days! Now, the month is closing out closer to normal with highs only in the 30s.

But, the roller-coaster weather didn’t stop us from jingling all the way through the holidays. I was finished shopping by Thanksgiving so that took some pressure off the holiday stress. Hope you enjoy my five jingles.

Jingle 1
Here are my two little elvish grand girls. I take these shots every year to commemorate how they’ve changed from year to year. I started with Peanut when she was about two years old.

Jingle 2
Santa, that original jolly ol’ elf, made an appearance at Breakfast with Santa: Pancakes and Pajamas earlier in the month.

Jingle 3
No holiday season is complete in our town without a trip to our church’s Magic Tree. It’s a 75-foot Sycamore strung with 38 miles of lights. Yes, I said miles. You can read about this awesome labor of loveΒ HERE. This year the weather cooperated and we enjoyed fellowship, hot chocolate, fire pit bonfires, cookies, kettle corn and Christmas carols during the evening.

Jingle 4
Our daughter and her family joined us on Christmas Eve for candlelight service, and we all came back to our house and had fettuccini for Christmas Eve dinner. They stayed long enough for us to get a photo together before heading home so Santa could make his scheduled stop at their house.

Jingle 5
Christmas Day we loaded up all the gifts and headed to the grandbabykins’ house to add to the post-Santa morning chaos.

Bonus Jingle

This is a bonus shot because, after Cabo’sΒ intestinal obstruction surgery back in October, I wasn’t sure he would be here. He seems to have fully recovered, but I still half expect something bad to happen again. I find myself saying a prayer of gratitude every day that he was not taken from me…..even when he’s being less than angelic. πŸ™‚

These shots recap our month fairly well. Sometimes the holidays get so busy we need to look at photos to see if we actually had a good time!

Please take a few minutes and check out how other people’s holidays jingled merry and bright over at PJ’s link up.

  2. Lisa, we pretty much had the same kind of weather here in Philadelphia. In fact, it’s still unseasonally warm. Today was actually hot and humid!?! I would really like to see some snow before winter ends.

Faaaaaaabulous photographs! Each and everyone made me smile πŸ™‚ The one of you and your girls, and the one of you and your family in front of the fireplace are is stellar! Such loving photos!

Wonderful shot of Cabo boy under the tree. So glad that he’s back in tip-shop shape. He looks amazing!

Thanks for sharing your holiday, my friend!
