We made it! The northern hemisphere survived winter and the reward is a spring more beautiful than I can recently remember. As I walk around my yard and as Cabo and I walk the neighborhood, signs of new life are everywhere.
I love photography, that goes without saying. But I also love words. To combine them together is bliss. My goal today was to find quotes about spring that were different from the usual platitudes about the season. So, I went to Goodreads and think I found some off-the-beaten path quotes that beautifully captures this season of new birth.
Did I tell you my new Samsung phone has a MACRO setting! I’m pretty excited about this and may have gone a bit overboard with it. Hope you enjoy my spring stroll.
And the Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth’s dark breast
Rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.
― Percy Bysshe Shelley, The Complete Poems
The alchemist was dazed and dumbfounded, as the true meaning of the magic was revealed: *The dead will rise from glade to glen and ancient will be young again*. The dead had, after all, risen. From dead and dry things there was growth, and new life everywhere. And the endlessly long winter had at last turned to spring.
From life to death and back again to life. It was indeed the greatest magic in the world.
― Lauren Oliver
The first bud of spring sings the other seeds into joining her uprising.
― Amanda Gorman
When you smell a spring flower, it’s as if the soul of that flower settles inside you! And then you become that flower for a short time!
― Mehmet Murat ildan
Does the robin sing because the cold of winter is leaving or the warmth of spring is coming? Or might he be singing because each without the other would lessen both?
― Craig D. Lounsbrough
I’ve seen life accept endings, but I never seen life surrender to them.
― Craig D Lounsbroug
