Awww Monday-newborn style

I haven’t taken part in Sandee’s Awww Monday for a while. But, today I have some pics I hope will make Awwwww simply fall out of your mouth. It happened when a friend of mine, who fosters children before adoption, was asked to take a newborn from the hospital after the birth mom indicated she wanted to pursue adoption. I saw her and immediately fell in love! But, before you jump to conclusions, we are definitely not adopting a newborn. But I did offer to take some newborn pics of her so my friend could have something to remember her by and to pass on to the adoptive family.

We’re going to call her Baby B. Born a little premature, but perfect in every detail. At 10 days old, I got the privilege of babysitting her while my friend ran errands. Below are some pics on how we spent our time together.

May you touch fireflies and stars, dance with fairies, and talk to the man in the moon. May you grow up with love and gracious hearts and people who care. Welcome to the world, little one. It’s been waiting for you. ~Unknown

It’s been a couple years since I’ve taken newborn pics. I didn’t remember having to get up and down from the floor so often!

A wee bit of Heaven drifted down from above, a handful of happiness, a heart full of love. When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into thousands of pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies. ~From Peter Pan

After the last time I did newborn pics, I bought cheesecloth and dyed strips of it in different colors…..should I have another opportunity to do this.

One only needs to look at a newborn to feel wonder and understand how fortunate we are to be part of the miracle of life.

There is a wonder in the birth of a baby that takes us beyond the mundane and into the realm of the divine.~Unknown

For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be. ~Psalm 139:13-16

The world is an ugly place right now. I can’t even imagine the pain the people of the Ukraine are suffering at the hands of a madman. But even in the middle of all the chaos, stories of triumph, kindness and hope are there. The birth of a baby is a shout out to faith and hope. All life is precious and we should do whatever it takes to help preserve and protect it because dark forces are constantly trying to destroy it.

Life is a flame that is always burning itself out, but it catches fire again every time a child is born. ~George Bernard Shaw

Linking up with Comedy Plus for Awww Monday. Because we all need more awe in our lives.

    To me, there is nothing more beautiful as a newborn. So pure, so sweet, so precious.

    Your idea about using the cheesecloth’s in various colors was brilliant too!

    Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful post, my friend. And I agree, we have to focus on all the things that bring light to this world.

    Have a wonderful week! X
