A Plethora of Ps

We are in week P of ABC Wednesday. The meme was started by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt. Each week word(s) beginning with the designated letter are selected and illustrate through a photo, poem or prose. My twist on the meme is selecting unusual words from The Phrontistery and pairing them with photos of familiar things in my world. As we progress through the alphabet, the words seem to get stranger and stranger. Aside from my BLOG being the best P example today, here are some you may like.

perlaceous: pearly
perliginous: producing pearls
Recently mentioned in my last Five Good Things, this strand of pearls is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. The colors are simply luscious. I have my eye on a matching bracelet as well.

philhippic: loving or admiring horses.
From the babies to the big ones, horses are magnificent creatures.

pluripresence: presence in multiple places at one time.
If I could figure out just HOW to do this, my life would be much simpler. 🙂

psammous: sandy.
What better representation of this word than a sandcastle…on a beach…in the Caribbean, of course?

pyrolatry: fire-worship; and
pyrosophy: knowledge of the properties of fire.
Whether it’s for camp fires, bonfires, s’mores, hot dogs, or just being memorized by the flames, fire captivates.

This is Round 6 of ABC Wednesday. It’s great fun and anyone can join in at anytime. To peek at previous weeks or check out this week’s entries, click on the ABC Wednesday logo in my sidebar.

  1. I already used the word plethora a couple times in comments to posts. I should have KNOWN that YOU would actually use it IN the post.

re: pluripresence – have you tried cloning? 😉

  4. My mind reels at the “p’s!” I like ‘psammous’ the best; perhaps I’ll remember it the next time I’m at the beach.

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my “p.”
