Goodbye Summer, hello Fall

Autumn begins tomorrow, although you won’t be able to tell from the 80 degree forecast. None-the-less, the calendar says Fall so I want to leave you with two last pictures of Summer. I’m ready for cooler temps during the day and crisp evenings sitting by the fire ring on the patio, sipping something to take away the chill (insert your fall beverage of choice).

Such a busy huge big little bee gathering the last of the pollen. Better hurry.

It won’t be long now until the hummer feeders are cleaned and stored away for winter. Never got a good shot of one at the feeder, but I’ll take this little guy in the tree any day! Bye-bye little hummer, see you next spring.

  1. Love the photos. It feels very much like fall here and has for a few days, but now the forecast says 80 towards the end of the week. It’s Mother Nature being fickle again. But those last hurrahs of summer are not a problem – anything that will extend our fall is appreciated!

  2. What beautiful photos! The weather has changed here – and I am loving it – cool. chill mornings and evenings but still lovely warm (not hot) in the day – if only it could stay like this!!

  3. Hi-
LOVE your quote on your header. (I”m an artist by profession.) As for cooler temps, I am so ready. Our summer broke records of years standing. Today another record may be broken. We’ll be up into the mid 90’s . UGh! That is not Sept. weather around here. Autumn is also my favorite season. (I saw that tropical island comment above. When we went to Aruba, we went on the cheaper season, so it was as hot and humid as it was here in D.C. but at least the scenery was far different. The trade winds helped a bit at night, though.)
