What color is your day today?
The psychology of color is intriguing. Have you noticed that the color you wear sometimes has an impact on your mood? Or the color someone else is wearing? Color impacts us in many ways. It’s powerful influence is reflected in our culture, religion, advertising and even therapies.
Feel free to use the guide below as you choose your color for today’s situation or circumstance. (Based on Western culture)
Red: energy, passion, desire, love, speed, intensity, aggression, danger
Pink: love, romance, tenderness, acceptance, calm
Beige or Ivory: unification, pleasantness, simplicity
Yellow (select this color and no one will know what you’re thinking): Joy, friendship, happiness, optimism, imagination, hope, sunshine, OR dishonesty, cowardice, jealousy, betrayal, deceit, hazard
Blue: Peace, tranquility, calm, stability, harmony, unity, trust, truth, confidence, security, loyalty
Tourquise or Teal: calm, sophistication
Purple: nobility, spirituality, mysterious, transformation, wisdom, enlightenment
Lavender: femininity, grace, elegance

Hmm… today wearing red but don’t feel “red”. 🙂 Did you know that the urinals in the “Away Team’s” locker at the University of Iowa are Pink? I always thought that was pretty clever.
